You guys...we DID IT! We watched all three seasons of Daredevil! It feels like just yesterday we started the series, and it feels so strange to know that it's over now. I wanted to spend today's blog post just talking about my thoughts on the show now that we finished it and what I thought of the plot, the characters, the costumes, all that good stuff!
Overall, I loved the show. The plot is SO good. The storylines were amazing all three seasons and I LOVED loved loved them. Personally, if I were to rank the seasons I think I would say that Season 1 was my favorite, followed by Season 3 and then followed up by Season 2 (though all of them were loved individually for different reasons). Season 1 just had that origin-story feel to it that I so loved. It was so much fun getting to learn about the characters and the Fisk vs. Daredevil stuff was SO awesome. This show definitely put Fisk as #1 on my list of favorite Marvel villains. Season 3 I think was a favorite for me too because it constantly kept us on our toes. And some of the scenes...WOW! That one-camera jail fight scene still sticks in my head even weeks after we've watched it. Season 2 I think ranks last for me because as much as I loved Elektra and Matt, the gore was a little much for me at times, and I personally felt that the plot just didn't live up to the first and third seasons as much for me. Obviously, I've talked many a time about how much I love Fisk as a villain in this. I can't wait to have more of him in Born Again. I loved the character development we got for Matt over the course of the seasons (even if he drove me nuts in the third season, our boy was really going through it HAHAH). I HATED Dex in the third season, literally the worst, which is what they wanted, but I just really really despised him HAHAH. Karen and Foggy are the BEST in this show, I really grew to adore Foggy's character (he's such a sweetie, always trying to look out for the best of people). Karen was a character that took me a while to warm up to, but I think especially in the third season we really got more of her back story and character development and that helped me love her character more. And then of course the other side characters we got were also fun to have as well, like Nadeem and Stick (who I have mixed feelings about). All of them definitely made me want to start reading some Daredevil comics! Costumes in this show were INSANE for Matt. It was so fun how they got him back to his roots with the OG suit in the third season, as well. Just him vibing with the black mask HAHAH. I'm curious if they'll go back to his red suit for Born Again, or keep his "ketchup and mustard" look to be more comic accurate. But listen, all I'm asking is that we get one in-MCU scene of him with that "I'm Not Daredevil" shirt on. I want it so bad 😂 I'll for sure be adding Matt to more skits, especially as we get closer to Born Again's release date and upcoming Marvel projects. Though I think I'll have to stick with his black mask and shirt look for a while 😋 Although this ends our Daredevil watch parties, we still have some exciting lives upcoming that I want to share with you all! I will be going live on TikTok with Marvel (yes, the Marvel) to start our very own comic book club using Marvel's app Marvel Unlimited!*. Our first live was yesterday afternoon, but if you want to join us on our next upcoming live, be sure to read House of M (2005) before this upcoming Sunday! And Marvel was awesome enough to give us a code to use for our comic book club. Go to marvel.com/fpp and use code FPP2023 at checkout to get your first month free on Marvel Unlimited. You'll be able to read along with us for the rest of the time that we do our TikTok Lives! This is a great way to start getting into the comics and talk about it with other Marvel fans. We had so much fun yesterday and I cannot wait to do it again this upcoming Sunday! *#ad Lives, related videos and posts sponsored by Marvel. Thank you all so much for coming along with me on these Daredevil Watch Party livestreams! It has been such a joy getting to watch these with you each week. Virtual hugs to you all! <3
