Well, it's officially our first Thursday without an episode of She-Hulk! Anyone else missing it as much as I am? I feel like the show just started, like, yesterday! Time is so interesting. It moves so fast and so slow all at the same time. Which brings me to the topic of this week's blog post--- Halloween! Well, cosplaying, to be more exact. Including today, we are only 11 days away until Halloween. CRAZY, right? I honestly didn't even realize until last night when I was diving back into cosplay shopping and found that most websites said that they were closed for commission or even just out of stock on a lot of items! I always find it so difficult to pick a Halloween costume now that I've been cosplaying because I feel like every day is Halloween! And then trying to decide what cosplays to use for my costume each year is so difficult because they are just too many to choose from! I'd say that's a pretty good problem to have, though 😉 Anyways, since we're in the midst of spooky season, I thought I would put together a little blog post on where I got my cosplays! I get these questions a whole bunch on my videos and I really wanted to take some time to kind of lay it all out in one big post to make it easier to find things. I hope this helps! 1. Spider-Man Homecoming SuitPurchased from herostime.com This is by far one of my most asked about cosplays. This suit was my first official cosplay back in November of 2020. I had just started doing my skits on TikTok, and was SO excited when I was able to buy a cosplay that wasn't just closet cosplay! After doing a bit of research, I ended up buying a suit from herostime.com! They are a website that specializes in spandex and puff-paint suits. They have a variety of different characters from Marvel to DC to Disney and more! I ended up picking the suit that was titled "Spider-Man Homecoming Costume Movie TRAILER VERSION New Spiderman Cosplay Suit". A long title, I know 😅 The great thing about Herostime Spidey Suits is that the suit will start at a base price and increase as you add things that you want! So for example, the base price of the suit is $85 USD, but if you wanted to add shoes they would add $25 USD to your total order price. For my suit, I chose to add: -Custom Sizing This ended up being a really good choice for me because the suit fit like a glove! You take your measurements and put them into the website, and they will tailor the spandex to the measurements that you give them instead of just standard sizing. I felt that this made the suit so much more comfortable since it was adjusted to my body type. -Detachable Mask I do have a mask for my Spider-Man suit! I don't wear it often, but it felt wrong not to have a mask with it! You can choose to have the mask sewn onto the suit so that the suit is just one single piece, or pay an upcharge to have the mask detached. You just check it off at the bottom of the order form before hitting "Add to Cart"! -Version 3 Lens Style You can pick what lenses you want your Spidey mask to have! They have a picture with some options of what eye-lens styles to choose from. I ended up choosing V3 because I liked that the detailing wasn't super thin or super thick around the lens. -Standard Fit I didn't really feel the need to do a tighter or looser fit with my suit, especially since I was putting in custom measurements. Having had the suit now for almost two years, I am happy to report that Standard size was definitely the right one for me! -Add Leather Stripes You can see in the photo I have above that on the front of the suit gliding up by the sides of my abdomen I have some leather stripes! I added these to mine, as I felt it gave the suit more definition and made it look just that little bit more like the way it does in the movie. -Sewn in Shoes Having the shoes built into my suit was one of the BEST decisions I made when ordering. I was able to wear the suit without putting shoes over it, and it made wearing it to Comic Con so much more comfortable, and it even makes the suit look more realistic in my opinion! Just make sure to select your shoe size so they know what size to sew in! You can also ask for detachable shoes, as well! There is also an option to add thicker fabric, however I didn't feel the need to do that at all. I still get pretty warm with the suit on just wearing the standard fabric that they have, so I'm glad I decided to stick with the thinner fabric. You can also have them make the spider on the chest of the suit 3D and not just printed on. I didn't end up doing that, but it's definitely a cool option! 2. Ant-Man SuitPurchased from cossky.com Unfortunately, I cannot find the link to the Ant-Man suit that I have purchased anymore on the Cossky website. They may have taken it down because it's so close to Halloween right now! This is definitely the most intricate suit I own to date. There are a lot of pieces that come with this suit including: -Leather One-Piece Biker Suit -Suit Vest -Belt -Arm Plates -Gloves -Back Plate -Boots (optional) I believe there are many other cosplay companies that sell a similar version of this suit as well (my dad recently purchased one from Sim Cosplay for our trip to New York Comic Con a few weeks ago and he loved it!). It did not come with a helmet, so I ended up purchasing the Hasbro Marvel Legends Ant-Man Helmet to go with it. It definitely adds a lot to the suit, but be warned that there is a manufacturing issue with the helmet that the backplate doesn't snap closed all the way. If you're planning to wear it to a con, or out for Halloween, be careful! 3. Scarlet Witch WandaVision Finale SuitPurchased from herostime.com When I saw Wanda's new suit at the end of WandaVision I KNEW I had to add it to my cosplay bucket list! It is one of my favorite suits to date, and so beautifully made. I also purchased this one from herostime.com and it comes with: -Leather Pants -Corset with Attached Bottom Cape -Corset Decal (attached at the middle as seen in photo) -Velcro Girdle -Fingerless Arm-Length Gloves -Headpiece -Cloak with Hood (not pictured) In the show, Wanda also has boots that match her pants that are available to purchase on other websites, however I just used some black boots that I already had. I cannot even begin to explain how cool this suit makes me feel! 4. Kate Bishop SuitPurchased from Cossmile on Etsy If you've been following me for a while, you know how much I adore Kate Bishop. I see so so much of myself in her character, and getting to see her played by Hailee Steinfeld in the Hawkeye series was AMAZING. I knew I absolutely had to cosplay her as my next cosplay, so I jumped right into searching for where to purchase a suit. I found a company called Cossmile on Etsy, and they are amazing! Definitely my new favorite cosplay company to purchase from right now. They are so professional, answered any questions I had through Etsy DM, and got my suit to me relatively quickly. And the quality is spectacular! It came with: -Pants -Purple Top -One-Sleeved Coat -Gloves -Belt with Arrowhead Holder -Quiver -Quiver Strap -Leg Garter (not pictured) -Boots (optional, not pictured) Similar to my Wanda cosplay, I didn't feel the need to buy boots because I had some that I felt matched this cosplay well. But you can purchase them if you would like to through Cossmile! 5. Yelena Belova VestPurchased from Cossmile on Etsy This picture was from my Yelena Disneybound that I did at Disneyland Paris back in July of this year! I ended up finding this vest also from Cossmile (like I said, new favorite cosplay store 😜). If you are interested in getting the white Black Widow suit that Yelena wears with her vest in the movie, you can purchase it with the vest as well! Yelena was on to something because this vest is SO comfortable. You can choose whether you want the pockets to be functional or decorative, as well!
